DAVID Mubaiwa, the socialite, actor, writer and comedian who is popularly known as Sabhuku Vharazipi, says he is still very much in the game.
Mubaiwa, who rose to national stardom in 2013 through the comedy drama “Sabhuku Vharazipi”, was responding to social media rumours that suggested he had decided to leave acting and was now focusing on other things.
With a collection of 10 productions under his belt, Sabhuku Vharazipi said retiring from the arts industry “is not an option”.
“Acting and writing are two things that bring food on the table for my family. Retiring from these two is akin to committing suicide. I will be around for the foreseeable future,” the Masvingo-based actor said.
On September 23, Sabhuku Vharazipi released his latest production titled “Sabhuku Muchato waEvelyn naAmos.”
Sabhuku Vharazipi said acting has opened a lot of doors for him.
“Since 2012, acting has been my major source of income. In the course of my journey, I signed a number of mega deals that transformed my life,” the 49-year-old actor said.
In 2013, he struck gold when Zimbabwe Newspapers Limited donated US$10 000 to the Ziya Cultural Trust, producers of the film “Sabhuku Vharazipi”, for re-production of “Sabhuku Vharazipi 2” DVDs.
