NEW: I cannot ask for more, says MWOS coach Lloyd Mutasa

PREMIERSHIP new boys MWOS are surprise leaders after only three rounds of action in the 2025 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League campaign, and their coach Lloyd Mutasa has been buzzing with confidence.

The Punters have seven points from a possible nine, which translates to a 78 percent success rate for Mutasa, who returns to Mandava Stadium to face his former employers FC Platinum on Saturday.

Mutasa admits MWOS will be the underdogs but believes his charges can mount a serious fight against the former champions.

He has told his boys to keep their feet on the ground and remain focused.

“Getting seven points out of nine, on our debut season, I think it’s a great start.

“I cannot ask for more.

“It’s a good start for the boys,” Mutasa told Zimpapers Sports Hub.

MWOS welcome back experienced central midfielder Gift Saunyama, who was out through injury.

But the Norton-based side will be without the combative Tinotenda “Dhiziri” Mutyambizi, who is serving a suspension.

Attacking midfielder Tyronne Matongorere is also out through injury.

But MWOS can still look up to striker Salif Cheya and talented midfielder Malvern “Majabvi” Mudzuka.

Goalkeeper Martin Mapisa is back from national duty.

“The boys have done well for now, but we only need to keep our feet on the ground, keep calm, keep focused and keep working,” said Mutasa.

He added: “The match against FC Platinum will be tough, you know, any Premier League match is never easy.

“We are playing against former champions at their home ground, so they will give it their all.

“But what we have done so far has given us the confidence to push forward and we are really looking forward to this match.”

MWOS have two wins and a draw from their three matches.

They stunned Highlanders 1-0 at Baobab on their debut PSL match, before playing a 1-1 draw against Bikita Minerals at Sakubva on Match Day Two.

MWOS dismissed Yadah 2-0 at Baobab Stadium the following week.
