JBC men find themselves in all too familiar territory, as the Addison Chiware-coached outfit shot to the top of the Harare Basketball Association (HBA) Super Six log, courtesy of a 48-43 victory over UZ Stars on Tuesday.
It was the reigning champions’ second victory of the HBA Super Six 2023-2024 season and stretched their unbeaten run in the new format to 27 matches.
JBC top the log standings with four points from two matches, while UZ Stars and Arcadia Bucs are second and third, respectively, with three points from as many matches.
Bucs registered their first win of the season when they beat newboys Basket Hounds 73-55 on Wednesday night.
Leopards Academy (2), Hounds (2) and Foxes (0) completed the log standings.
In the other matches played on Tuesday and Wednesday night, UZ Sparks narrowly edged JBC women 39-32, while Vixens walloped Harare City Hornets 66-33.
The results see UZ Sparks top the women’s log standings with four points from the opening two matches, while JBC and Vixens follow with three and two points, respectively.
Hornets (2), Fillies (0) and Greenstars (0) wrap up the women’s log standings.
