NEW: Kadewere in cameo appearance for Lyon

Online reporter

Zimbabwe international striker Tino Kadewere, who is back from injury, came on as a late substitute for Olympique Lyonnais (Lyon), who thrashed Brondby 3-0 in a Europa League match at the Groupama Stadium on Thursday night.

Kadewere has recovered from a nagging groin injury that he aggravated when he featured for Zimbabwe in a World Cup qualifier against South Africa at the National Sports Stadium on September 3.

Before Thursday night’s cameo appearance, Kadewere had last featured for Lyon in a 1-0 win at Nantes on August 27.

On Thursday night, he came on as an 83rd minute replacement for French forward Maxence Caqueret.

The striker has, however, been omitted from the national team that will play Ghana in back-to-back World Cup qualifiers on October 9 and October 12.
