NEW: Kaitano Tembo fired  

ZIMBABWEAN coach Kaitano Tembo has been fired at SuperSport United following a string of poor results.

‘Matsatsantsa’ are winless in their last four DStv Premiership matches and were knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by TTM last week.

Former Bafana goalkeeper Andre Arendse, who served as Tembo’s assistant, will be in charge on an interim basis until the end of the season.

SuperSport United are eight on the log with 31 points, a massive 23 points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns.

The club announced Tembo’s departure by mutual consent in an official statement on Tuesday afternoon.

The 51-year-old Tembo has been a long-time servant of the club, having played for SuperSport United before becoming assistant coach to a number of coaches.

He was appointed head coach in 2018.

Tembo also coached the club’s development sides before he was appointed assistant coach. – Online Reporter/Kick Off
