CONSTRUCTION of new vending stalls and refurbishing of old ones in Nyanga is nearing completion, with vendors set to start using the facilities soon.

Nyanga Rural District Council chairperson Mrs Margaret Nyahoda said the construction of Nyamhuka 1 People’s Market is nearly done.

“The People’s Market at Nyamhuka is almost complete. Those vendors who were already registered in our system will be the beneficiaries. Everything is in place now and 99 percent complete that by the end of this month the market will be commissioned and start operating. We are now putting the final touches,” said Mrs Nyahoya.

She said the council had responded by constructing and refurbishing the vending stalls after some of them were destroyed by an inferno.

Nyamhuka 1 People’s Market was constructed to the tune of over $2 million and will accommodate 68 vendors.
