VETERAN South African coach Johnny Ferreira has hailed Musina-based Zimbabwean coach Clemence Mabhidhi for his efforts in promoting football at grassroots level.

Ferreira, who is in charge of GladAfrica Championship side Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC, said: “I deal with a man that watches many of our football games, and has become a very good friend of mine. His name is ‘Bhora Mutambo’ Clemence Mabhidhi.

“This gentleman is doing a lot for football as an intermediary level. He is also helping foundations, schools raise money and helping children in the rural areas to be supplied with football equipment.”

On Thursday, Mabhidhi donated football equipment at his former school, Chamakanda, in Chirumhanzu.

He has also helped a number of Zimbabwean footballers to settle in South Africa.

Added Ferreira: “The football industry in the Southern part of Africa includes Zimbabwe, and we need more people like ‘Bhora Mutambo’.”

Mabhidhi, who works with a number of local football academies, is currently involved in the construction of a football stadium in Beitbridge.
