TWO members of a three-men gang that hijacked a taxi in Chitungwiza on Tuesday and robbed the driver have been arrested.

According to police, the suspects hired a taxi operator at Chikwanha Shopping Centre to take them to Koala Park, but they then hijacked the taxi along the way.

“Upon reaching Chinhamo Service Station along Seke Road, the suspects attacked the victim and stole a Huawei cellphone and US$10 cash, before pulling the victim out of the vehicle, a Toyota Sienta motor vehicle, and drove away,” said the Zimbabwe Republic Police in a statement.

Police tracked the vehicle to Harare’s central business district, where the suspects were arrested.

One of the suspects, who has been identified as Kudzi, is still on the run.
