NEW: Mai TT fined for absconding court

COMEDIENE Mai TT, born Felistas Murata, has been slapped with a US$30 fine for failing to appear in court for a hearing in which she is a State witness.

Mai TT risks spending a month behind bars if she fails to pay the fine by the end of business on Tuesday.

She was fined after she appeared before Harare Magistrate Ms Lyn Chizhou intending to cancel the arrest warrant issued against her a fortnight ago.

Mai TT claimed that she failed to attend court after attending her father’s funeral.
