NEW: Man killed over joke

A Harare man was killed over an “offensive joke” at Long Cheng Plaza in Belvedere on Saturday.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Zimbabwe Republic Police said the victim, Takaidza Mugwagwa (44), was attacked with an unknown object by two suspects.

“Police in Harare have arrested Munyaradzi Tichafara (22) and Wisdom Sithole (23) in connection with a case of murder in which Takaidza Mugwagwa (44) died after being attacked with an unknown object all over the body on October 12, 2024, at Longchen Plaza, Belvedere,” reads the statement.

“The victim had allegedly made a joke that offended the suspects.”
