A Harare man has turned to court seeking a peace order against his neighbour, accusing him of harassment.

Davis Mareka appeared before the Harare Civil Court on Thursday seeking a peace order against his neighbour Charles Sibanda.

“He harasses me in front of my family, insults me and abuses me verbally,” Mareka said.

“I am tired of living in fear of what he might do or say next. I just want

Sibanda said he had no issues with the peace order.

“We are neighbours and at some point, we have had our differences but I don’t see why he’s making such a big deal out of this,” he said.

“My only issue is that he’s always making noise when he’s fighting with his children.

“I just want some peace and quiet.”

Presiding magistrate Ms Meenal Narotam ordered Sibanda to refrain from harassing or abusing Mareka and stay at least 100 metres away from the applicant’s residence.
