REGGAE artiste Mannex (Emmanuel Motsi) will be the main act at the Reggae Fusion show, which will be held in Harare on Sunday.
The reggae fusion genre is a blend of reggae music and other genres such as Zimdancehall, Zim hip-hop, Afro-fusion, rhythm and blues (RnB), and many more.
Mannex will share the stage with Marcy Janyure, a singer, song writer, guitarist and mbira player.
Afro-fusion musician Ammi Jamanda will also perform.
Reggae musician Tichaona Ekhaya, who is based in Canada, flew into the country specifically for this concert.
In an interview with The Sunday Mail Online, Mannex explained why musicians from other genres were incorporated into the show.
“We noticed that the involvement of musicians that specialise in other genres attracts a larger crowd.
“We are therefore expecting a convergence of fans,” Mannex said.
Ammi Jamanda echoed the same sentiments and hailed the initiative as a noble idea.
“In my view, I think the organisers of the concert did their homework. We are expecting a very big crowd since we are going to have fans coming in for the different music genre. This is a noble idea,” Jamanda said.
Apart from featuring both known and unknown artistes, those that are going to attend the show will have the opportunity to buy reggae paraphernalia.
