NEW: Mark Ngwazi sets eyes on UK

RISING sungura singer Mark Ngwazi, who recently shared the stage with Chimurenga singer Thomas Mapfumo, says he plans to hold more shows in the United Kingdom (UK).

“More gigs have been scheduled for the UK. I noticed most people in that part of the world appreciate my music, and I am glad to announce that I will be performing soon in Scotland and Ireland,” he told The Sunday Mail Online.

The last time the Njanja Express frontman was in the UK in April when he shared the stage with the likes of Baba Harare, Gemma Griffiths, Seh Calaz, Enzo Ishall, Holy Ten and Saintfloew during the SAMA Festival UK.

The singer says this is a positive development in his career, as his brand is growing abroad.

“Many people thought our performances are restricted to rural areas and farming towns, but this should send a clear message with regards to our capacity and influence,” said the “Taurai Madzoka” hitmaker.
