NEW: Mehluli Sibanda ruled out of Davis Cup tie

Online Reporter

MEHLULI Sibanda has been ruled out of Zimbabwe’s Davis Cup World Group II play-off tie against Uruguay on Friday and Saturday due to injury.

He will be replaced by Courtney Lock in the singles.

It is suspected that the Bulawayo-based tennis ace is nursing a shoulder and hamstring injury.

The draw for the tie was held on Thursday morning.

Courtney Lock is set to open the encounter against Uruguay’s Martin Cuevas, while his older brother, Benjamin, meets Ignacio Carou in Friday’s singles at Harare Sports Club.

The Lock brothers will then team up and meet the duo of Cuevas and Ariel Behar in Saturday’s doubles, before they play the reverse singles.
