NEW: Model set to represent Zimbabwe at international show

COMMERCIAL model and image consultant Dylan Kazembe is set to represent Zimbabwe at the Global African Fashion Coalition (GAFC), which will be held in South Africa between May 29 and June 3, 2023.

The event exposes designers to new fashion trends through numerous international media channels.

In an interview with The Sunday Mail Online, Dylan said it was an honour to be the country’s sole representative at such a prestigious event.

“I see it as a great platform to put Zimbabwean fashion on the map and initiating partnerships with designers all over Africa,” he said.

The GAFC programme includes a fashion designer’s workshop, a street fashion show, a photoshoot tour at Kruger National Park and Panorama route, as well as a garden fashion show and exhibition.

Freedom Nkululeko Ngomane, who is the director at Giga-Guru, said the event is a good networking platform.

“We will host a workshop within the programme where fashion designers and models will be acquainted to leverage partnerships to expand the African economy through fashion,” he said in a statement.

Fashion designers and influencers from all over Africa, Europe and North America are expected at the event.

Dylan is well-known for his partnerships with Bachelor Republic, Epic Leather and Black Effect.

He is also a consultant for Venice Men’s Wear.
