NEW: Mutoko farmer arrested for cultivating dagga

POLICE in Mutoko have arrested Zvenyika Hodzi (48) from Village 7 for unlawful cultivation of dagga and recovered more than 1 000 plants.

Police received a tip-off that Hodzi, of Plot 1, Zvidozvevanhu in Mutoko, had planted dagga in his conventional tobacco field.

Acting upon the information, police went to the field where they found more than 1000 plants grown in-between tobacco plants.

Mashonaland East police spokesperson Inspector Simon Chazovachiyi confirmed the arrest and urged the public to desist from illegal activities
