PREMIER Soccer League (PSL) debutants MWOS FC are set to take on 2024 league champions Ngezi Platinum Stars in a headline football clash during this year’s Mashonaland West Independence Day celebrations.

The celebrations will be held at Mbafa Primary School in Uhuru Nakazi, Chegutu East constituency.

Speaking during a Zanu PF Provincial Coordinating Committee (PCC) meeting held at the school, Mashonaland West Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Marian Chombo, said preparations for the event were complete.

“Everything is set for the event. Ngezi Platinum and MWOS will battle it out for the provincial Independence title,” said Minister Chombo.

“In addition to the match, a variety of entertainment activities have also been lined up.”

Zanu PF Politburo member and Minister of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs, Cde Ziyambi Ziyambi, applauded President Mnangagwa’s decentralisation agenda, saying it was empowering rural communities to actively participate in national events.
