State-owned mobile telecommunications service provider, NetOne, has launched OneGaming, a development that will contribute to the growth of the gaming industry in Zimbabwe.

Officiating at the launch, NetOne board vice chair, Engineer Gibson Jumbi, said the new service was in line with Government’s goal or improving access to ICTs.

“The launch of OneGaming is of strategic importance, as it dovetails with the mandate of the Ministry of ICT, Postal and Courier Services, to connect the unconnected and to improve access to ICTs,” he said.

“The ever increasing smartphone and tablet penetration is shaping the gaming market structure.

“Our focus is to tap into the space and increase subscriber engagement by providing a gaming service, which has been neglected for long.”
