NEW: New Commander for 3 Brigade

THE four-and-a-half years stint of 3 Brigade Commander, Brigadier-General George Chitsva, officially came to an end this week as the incoming Brigadier-General Arnold Gumbo took over at a ceremony held at the Hebert Chitepo Barracks in Mutare today.

Zimbabwe National Army Commander, Lieutenant-General Anselem Sanyatwe was the Chief Witnessing Officer during the handover-takeover ceremony.

The incoming Three Brigade Commander, Brigadier-General Gumbo held several command and staff appointments among them, Director Staff Senior Division at Zimbabwe Staff College, Director Staff Battalion Group Commanders Course at AABS and Commandant Zimbabwe Military Academy (ZMA) as well as Personal Staff Officer (PSO) to COS AQS.

The outgoing 3 Brigade Commander, Brigadier-General Chitsva will be joining One Infantry Brigade in Matebeleland, the senior brigade in the ZNA.

Traditional leaders Chiefs Mutasa, Zimunya and Marange, senior civil servants in Manicaland, together with several members of the business community graced the occasion.
