Government believes “nothing will stop” the Premier Soccer League (PSL) from resuming “as soon as possible”.
Speaking during a tour of the construction site of Wadzanai Stadium in Shamva Thursday afternoon, Youth, Sport, Arts and Recreation Deputy Minister Tino Machakaire hailed businessman Simba Ndoro for spearheading the project.

The stadium is home to ambitious Northern Region Division One side Simba Bhora, who are owned by the 43-year-old Ndoro.
“I am actually surprised with the way these guys are tackling such a huge project,” said Deputy Minister Machakaire.
“You know, as Government, this is what we are looking for and we are very supportive of the project.
“I want to say thank you to (Mr) Simba Ndoro for the support you have shown to the community and the football fraternity.”

He also spoke about the much-awaited resumption of local football.
“Everything is now in place for soccer to be played as soon as all players are vaccinated.”
Simba Ndoro has so far sunk in US$200 000 into the project.

“My dream is to have Premier Soccer League being played right here in Shamva, Mashonaland Central,” he declared.
Simba Bhora were promoted into the Northern Region Division One League at the end of the 2019 season and are expected to host their games at Wadzanai Stadium when the second-tier league resumes, tentatively in June.
Northern Region Division One board member Stanley Nyachowe, ZIFA technical director Wilson Mutekede and Warriors team manager Wellington Mpandare attended the event.
