GROWING up in the high-density suburb of Mbare, in Harare, musician Nutty O (born Carrington Simbarashe Chiwadzwa) never dreamt of one day boarding an airplane.

Although his wish was to become a musician, he never entertained thoughts of one day performing before multitudes of fans overseas.

Nutty O recently performed in the United Kingdom, where he not only mesmerised fans, but also networked, promoted his brand, and did some collaborations.

Formerly with Jah Prayzah’s Military Touch Movement (MTM), Nutty O said the UK trip was an eye-opener.

“This tour is one of the best things that have so far happened to my career.

“Apart from performing before an appreciating crowd, I got the opportunity to market my brand to the various stakeholders,” Nutty O said.

During his UK stint, he also managed to mix and mingle with Rymez, a multi-talented UK-based producer.

Rymez has produced for such international artists like Wizkid and Burna Boy, just to mention a few.

He was also featured on a popular UK podcast, which is hosted by Energy Gawd.

Nutty O was also introduced to Iyanya, a rising Afrobeat musician from Niger.

For the young artist, featuring on a radio programme on BBC Radio 1Xtra was the icing on the cake.

“The BBC radio interview exposed my brand to the rest of the world.

“I got a lot of positive responses after the interview,” Nutty O said.
