A local non-governmental organisation, Plan International Zimbabwe, has drilled six boreholes for various schools in Kwekwe.

It is believed that the boreholes will assist in the promotion of menstrual hygiene for young women.

“Consistent access to water is vital in the management of menstrual hygiene for girls and young women. Under the Kwekwe Youth for Water project, Plan International Zimbabwe rehabilitated and drilled six boreholes at Donjane, Tombankala, Nyakwati and Ntobe schools for girls to access clean water,” the organisation said in a statement.

Plan International Zimbabwe is a child-centred NGO that implements various programmes to assist communities to improve the lives of marginalised children.
