New Orleans beat Chipembere Queens 2-0 at Raylton Sports Club with goals coming from Caroline Ndlovu and Nokuthula Ndlovu.
Thabiso “Mafika”Bhebhe, the New Orleans technical director said they were happy with the win after last week’s stumble against Cyclone Stars.
“The team is now gelling up and we are so happy that we collected maximum points at home after losing our first match away match to Cyclone Stars. What made the victory all sweet is that we are fielding our junior team and although most of them were in action at Gifford High School on Friday in a schools tournament, they still played well and won,” Bhebhe said.
Inline Academy’s 9-0 win away to Masvingo Queens has made it two wins on the trot after they defeated Flame Lily Queens 3-1 last week at home.
An avalanche of goals, four by Rudo Neshamba, braces from Judith Lunga and Talent Mazetese and another goal by Bonginkosi Nleya were enough to bag the three points by the Bulawayo team.
Shadreck Mlauzi the Inline coach said he was happy with the win and the precious three points.
“It has been a decent start to the season so far and I am happy with how the girls played in this match. I just hope we continue winning as the season wears on and see where we end by the end of it. There however is still need for improvement and I hope the players will continue improving day by day,” Mlauzi said.
