New pay date for pensioners

Government has set today as payment day for all of last month’s unpaid pensions. In a statement, Minister of Finance and Economic Development Patrick Chinamasa said the delay in pensions, salaries was regrettable.

“Further to my Press release of the 24th December, 2015, I wish to further advise that pension benefits for former members of the public service for the month of December 2015 will be paid on the 8th January, 2016,” he said.

“Treasury sincerely regrets all the inconveniences caused.”

Pensioners are also expected to get their pensions for this month on February 5.
