A NEW political party- the United Freedom Party (UFP) – has vowed to adopt and drive Home-grown solutions as a means to restore Zimbabwe’s status as the continent’s bread basket.
According to the party’s president, Pastor Godwin Zivavose (46), the party’s vision was to reconcile and unite all Zimbabweans, both in the country and in the diaspora, making Zimbabwe a progressive nation again, its people working together to reconstruct a plundered economy of the country.
He said their party was not just an opposition but theirs was all about finding solutions to the various challenges faced in the country.
“UFP is made up of Zimbabweans who, out of frustration of the state of governance in Zimbabwe, gathered and agreed to fight the status quo in pursuit of freedom for all Zimbabweans pursuing avenues which are driven by home-grown solutions, “said Pastor Zivavose.
“Our party is here to revive our country where every Zimbabwean no-matter colour or creed has the freedom they deserve. UFP is bringing radicalism in our approach to free Zimbabwe and her people. We are here to position ourselves in the forefront of this battle. We are also guided by the spirit of patriotism and constructive opposition that build our nation.”
The Lobengula-West bred Pastor Zivavose also mentioned that their party shall ensure restoration in all neglected areas through which Zimbabwe shall become the breadbasket of Africa again.
“The economy must be built and supported by our vast natural resources that will be equitably distributed without cronyism and corruption. Our country has everything for it to be developed and this will lead to better livelihoods for our citizens.”
Pastor Zivavose also applauded the government for steering some commendable projects.
“It will be anti-development for us not to appreciate some good projects we are seeing across the country despite challenges facing our country. Our party is pleased with projects like the new state of the art Beitbridge border post, the progress at Gwaai-Shangani Dam project, new state of art Parliament Building that was unveiled, the repeal of AIPPA and POSA to open the freedom of Press, Harare and Victoria Falls Airport redevelopment.
“We have also seen some infrastructural development where some roads and bridges are being constructed. We are also pleased with improvements when it comes to operations at Home Affairs; people are no-longer struggle to access birth certificates, identity documents, e-passports and even death certificates. Again the introduction of other offices which reduced congestion at provincial Harare, Bulawayo Provincial registry is commendable. In our region we saw the introduction of Lupane provincial registry, Beitbridge district registry and Hwange district registry. This is what is needed for a country to function properly,” he added.
A catholic by upbringing, Pastor Zivavose further disclosed that his party salutes and appreciates the role played by Freedom Fighters and Security forces in the country.
“We wouldn’t be here today if it was not for the war veterans who sacrificed their lives and brought our independence. We applaud them and will always be indebted to them and protect the revolution on their behalf. We are also proud of our defense forces, intelligence, prison forces and police forces for securing our country and making sure that we live our lives in better environments. Other countries are not experiencing the peace we are enjoying because of these brave men, we salute,” he said.
