New prison boss for Mash West

Paul Pindani in Chinhoyi

COMMISSIONER Phineas Chitekuteku has been appointed to head the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service (ZPCS) in Mashonaland West Province.

Comm Chitekuteku was the Chief Director responsible for research development at the ZPCS headquarters.

He replaces Comm Ernest Pambayi, who has been appointed Chief Director, Internal Police, Security and Intelligence.

Assistant Principal Correctional Officer, Emanueri  Kondowe, the ZPCS Mashonaland West public relations officer, told H-Metro that Comm  Pambayi was leaving after a three-year stint in the province.

“During his tenure, Comm Pambayi supervised and walked through the completion of housing units at Chinhoyi Farm Prison and Kadoma Prison that had been left by his predecessor, now Deputy Comm Gen Manetswa Manhivi.

“Mashonaland West being the bread basket of the organisation, enhanced production to see to it that grain is exported to other provinces such as Harare, Midlands and Matabeleland provinces,” he said.
