Police have arrested a prominent prophet, Luckmore Chakanyuka of the International Arena of Miracles for allegedly defrauding a bereaved man of his money in a botched $1, 2 million deal that failed to sail through.

In a statement on Friday, police said the suspect duped a couple of $1 200 000 after being given a bank card to transact $100 000 into US dollars, meant for the complainant’s bed-ridden wife’s treatment.

The wife is now late.

“The ZRP confirms the arrest of a prominent prophet from International Arena of Miracles on September 17, 2021 in Chinhoyi, for a case of fraud” reads part of the statement.

The same prophet has also been in the news after he was accused of bedding congregants in exchange for anointing.
