NEW: Remain peaceful – Church

Online Reporter

THE Church says it remains indebted to God for this year’s peaceful elections.

National coordinator of the Austin Bonnema Prayer Foundation, in collaboration with the Tehillar Christian Network, Reverend Sam Ngaware Malunga said it was time to give thanks to God for the just-ended peaceful elections.

“As the Church, we remain thankful to God for the peace that prevailed in the country, as Zimbabweans have proven to be mature by heeding the clarion call by His Excellency, Cde Dr Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, to desist from violence but preach peace,” he said.

“As clergy of the country, it is critical that we call the nation to a place of prayer. In this stage, let us take the position of thanksgiving to God for the peace prevailing in the country and remember that Zimbabwe is in the divine purpose of God.

“We call upon the clergy and the religious community to prioritise giving spiritual guidance to those in authority in tandem with biblical principles and oracles so that peace may continue to prevail in Zimbabwe and across Africa.”
