THE Southern African Development Community (SADC) has hailed Government for engaging various critical stakeholders in the current reviewing of the National Gender-Based Violence strategy.

Speaking on the sidelines of the National GBV Strategy Review workshop held at a local hotel today, SADC Human Security Programme Officer, Ms Jacinta Hofnie said: “We are here not to present lessons from other SADC member states, but to share with Zimbabwe tools and strategies that SADC implements on gender-based violence. It is commendable that the Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprises Development is engaging the police and other stakeholders in the reviewing of the strategy.”

The workshop, which started today (Wednesday) and ends on Friday, is being hosted by Ministry of Women Affairs, Community, Small and Medium Enterprise Development and is being attended by stakeholders such as police, judiciary and Ministry of Mines and Mining Development among others.
