YOUNG people from across the world should collaborate and make the world a better place despite their differences, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said.

Addressing the closing ceremony of the World Youth Festival in Russia, President Putin said the festival was an opportunity for young people to develop networks and partner in future projects.

The World Youth Festival ran from March 1 to 7, 2024.

“When we were inviting you to come to Russia, we set ourselves the fairly simple tasks of creating conditions of freedom, creativity and friendship for you to interact with each other and meet new friends, and possibly partners in your future projects.

“I hope that we succeeded,” said President Putin.

Member of Parliament for Mashonaland West under the Youth Quota Mr Mutsawashe Ziyambi said the Zimbabwean delegation had drawn positive lessons from the World Youth Festival.

“There are a lot of takeaways that we will implement back home, which we learnt here,” he said.

This year’s edition of the World Youth Festival was attended by youth from 180 countries.
