NEW: Sakupwanya pledges more empowerment for Mabvuku-Tafara

Online Reporter

Prominent businessman and Zanu PF candidate for Mabvuku-Tafara constituency Mr Scott Sakupwanya has vowed to continue to implement empowerment projects in the area, where he is vying for the National Assembly seat in by-elections slated for December 9.

Addressing multitudes of people at his campaign rally at Chizhanje Shopping Centre in Mabvuku on Wednesday, Cde Sakupwanya said he had decided to take a second bite of the cherry because of his love for people in the constituency.

“I am running again in Mabvuku, because I have genuine love for you, the people of Mabvuku and Tafara.

“I will continue to use my own resources to empower you and bring positive changes to your lives so that no one is left behind.”

He chronicled some of the projects that he has carried out to date, saying although he has already splashed millions of dollars, there is more to come.

“You have seen how we have built new roads, multiple boreholes and new robots in this community.

“We have also funded income generating projects for women, youths, the elderly and those living with disability. We are not going to stop but we will continue to do more.”

Mr Sakupwanya lost to the CCC’s Mr Munyaradzi Kufahakutizwi, who garnered 15 934 votes, against his 12 038 in the initial August 23 to 24 2023 vote.

He said he had come back stronger in the pending by-election.

“It was God who gave us another chance and this time, victory is certain. The voters have seen that the CCC has nothing to offer to them.

“It is only President Mnangagwa’s vision for development that will elevate this constituency.”
