ZIMBABWE is making significant progress in the development of a comprehensive national legal and regulatory framework for nuclear and radiation safety, Radiation Protection Authority of Zimbabwe chairperson Dr Anna Mary Nyakabau has said.
She made the remarks while officially opening the Radiation Safety Conference in Harare on Wednesday.
“The achievements also include effective implementation of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safety standards in almost all areas where radiation is used,” she said.
Applications of nuclear science and technology in Zimbabwe include isotope hydrology, soil chemistry, crop breeding, and improving genetics.
