ORGANISERS of the Sable Chicken Sevens Summer Series have released the seeding and schedule for the two-day event that kicks off at Harare Sports Club on Saturday.
The men’s competition will see the 12 teams placed into three groups of four, with Harare Sports Club (HSC), Old Georgians (OGs) and Old Hararians (OH) the top-seeded sides.
Harare Sports Club are in Pool A, alongside Pitbulls, Old Crestonians and Matabeleland 1, while Old Georgians are in Pool B alongside Mutare Sports Club, Harare Select and Matabeleland 2.
OH wrap up the men’s competition alongside a High-Performance Centre team, Mabvuku and Midlands.
The six women’s teams have been divided into two groups of three, with Cheetahs White in Pool A alongside Harare and Matabeleland.
Cheetahs Black are in Pool B and will come up against Bulawayo and Manicaland.
Wrapping up proceedings will be the juniors’ category in which the six teams have also been placed into two groups of three teams each.
Harare Sports Club Cubs, OGs and XP Horns make up Pool A, while Zimbiru, OH and Raiders make up Pool B.
The tournament is part of a two-week Sevens’ rugby bonanza that will culminate with the country hosting Botswana and Zambia in the Zambezi Challenger slated for April 9-10 at Harare Sports Club.
The top sides from the Summer Series, slated for April 2-3, will then move on to the Zambezi Challenger Series also at Harare Sports Club.
