A commercial sex worker from Chiweshe, who is currently on bail for murder, appeared before Concession magistrate Mr Joshua Nembaware for assault after biting off her colleague’s tongue during a late-night beer binge.
Grace Trinta (34) was remanded in custody to June 21, 2023 after pleading not guilty to charges of assault.
The court heard that on April 27, 2023, Grace was drinking beer at a night club in Chiweshe with an unnamed co-accused, who is still at large.
The duo are well-known commercial sex workers in the area.
The duo later had an altercation with another sex worker, Perpetual Lumber (26), who was also drinking beer in the same bar that night, and took turns to assault her.
During the brawl, Grace then bit off Perpetual’s cheek, leaving her with a deep wound, before biting off her tongue.
After the assault, Grace and her colleague vanished.
Grace was later arrested on June 5.
