SONGBIRD Kimberly “Kim” Makumbe’s new release “Must Be Love” has set social media alight.

“Must Be Love” introduces a new music genre that mixes trap and jiti.

The single is a collaboration between Kim, Whiteboy and Cleanshizzle.

The trap-jiti musician said she has received encouraging feedback on her unique genre of music.

“The response is very good. However, some people do not understand the concept of fusing genres.

“But some of my fans appreciate the diversion from my usual sound,” Kim said.

The song, according to Kim, was inspired by the beauty of falling in love and acknowledging it.

Kim said most people nowadays believe that true love no-longer exists.

“This song is about the initial stages of a relationship, popularly known as the ‘honeymoon phase’, when a person realises that they are in love with someone,” she said.

Kim has, over the years, produced songs that include, “Do You” (2019), “Sheego” (2020), “Nobody’s Business” (2021), “Time” (2021), “Bae-sty” (2022), “Body” (2022), and “Ndazvipira” (2023).
