NEW: Sungura star Mutambi rescues Gonora

SUNGURA star Simon Mutambi recently came to the rescue of Daniel Gonora, a visually impaired musician who recently lost his musical instruments in a fire.

Gonora’s band – The Gonora Sounds – recently lost all its instruments after a fire razed a complex in Mbare where the instruments were kept.

Without the instruments, Gonora, who performs on the streets of Harare, was stranded and struggling to feed his two wives and six children.

Mutambi then donated a musical kit that includes guitars, solar panels, batteries, amplifiers and speakers, among other instruments.

“I heard about my colleague’s plight and I offered him the little that I had. Gonora earns a living through conducting live shows and without instruments, he was going to struggle financially,” Mutambi said.

He also donated groceries to the Gonora family.

Gonora thanked the sungura musician for his kind gesture.

“As a band and a family, we are humbled by this kind gesture. May the Lord richly bless him,” he said.
