BLACK Rhinos’ battle-hardened long distance runner Moses Tarakinyu and Zimbabwe Republic Police’s Olivia Chitate have retained their Tanganda Tea Half Marathon titles after coming out tops in the race this morning.

Tarakinyu outpaced competitors in the 21km main race as he romped home in one hour, two minutes and 37 seconds.

It was a tightly contested race as second-placed Elijah Mabhunu crossed the finishing line just seven seconds after Tarakinyu.

Blessing Mayisoni was in third position after finishing the race in one hour, three minutes and 30 seconds.

In the ladies 21km main event category, Chitate, who scooped pole position in the same race last year, was once again the winner after finishing the race in one hour, 15 minutes and 25 seconds, while Ethel Pangiso came second after crossing the finishing line in one hour, 15 minutes and 41 seconds.

Patience Murove was in third position after finishing the race in one hour, 17 minutes and four seconds.
