FC PLATINUM coach Norman Mapeza believes it is too early to conclude his team is off track in terms of the 2025 Premier League campaign.
The former champions have managed four draws and one win in their first five games of the 2025 season, leaving them mid-table with seven points.
On Saturday, they face GreenFuel in a game they must try to win to appease their doubting fans.
“In football, results can go either way. If you look at football all over the world, for home matches you have to maximise,” said Mapeza.
“We are playing a good team. They went to Bikita, they managed to score goals. They played against Yadah, they managed to beat Yadah 1-0. In terms of morale, in terms of confidence, they are very high.”
Mapeza said he has been working on his team’s confidence.
“For us, if we think it’s not happening, psychologically we are going to bring ourselves down,” he said. “We are okay. The teams on top of us, Ngezi, just six points away. Maybe MWOS maybe four points ahead of us.”
The FC Platinum coach spoke on preparedness, saying his team was ready for battle, with only two players on the injury list.
“Bothwell (Nzori) is out, he pulled his muscle. He is going to be out for a few weeks,” said Mapeza. “Shepherd Mhlanga, you didn’t see him in the past game. He had a knee problem. I think I spoke about it. But for the rest of the guys, they are good to go.”
