NEW: Three arrested over SA car theft

THREE people have been arrested after allegedly being found in possession of three Toyota SUV vehicles believed to have been stolen in South Africa.

The suspects had fake vehicle registration books.

One of the suspects was found in possession of a fake Malawian passport.

National police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi, confirmed the incident, adding that investigations are in progress.

“On March 16, 2022, police in Bulawayo arrested Nkosiyabo Bekithemba Mbambo(29), Karl Jodack Herbert (26) and Nomathemba Ncube (26) and recovered three SA registered vehicles, a Toyota Prado, Toyota Fortuner and a Toyota Hilux suspected to have been stolen from SA.

“The trackers for all the three vehicles were found disconnected and one of the suspects was found in possession of a fake Malawian Passport and fake vehicle registration books,” he said.
