NEW: Three Ngezi Platinum players on 2023 calendar

…no players from CAPS United and FC Platinum

PREMIER Soccer League champions Ngezi Platinum Stars have three players on the 2023 Soccer Stars of the Year calendar, while Tinotenda Benza of Herentals made it amongst the best eleven for the second year running.

The league’s top scorer Takunda Benhura, left-back Qadr Amini and goalkeeper Nelson Chadya were selected amongst the best by a selection panel consisting of 53 journalists, 18 coaches and their captains.

The panel also voted for the Soccer Star of the Year, Coach of the Year and Most Promising Player of the Year on Tuesday.

However, these will be made public at an event in Harare on Friday.

Giants Dynamos and Highlanders provided two players each on the 2023 Soccer Stars of the Year calendar.

No player from CAPS United was selected.

The Dynamos FC pair of Donald Mudadi and Tanaka “Kante” Shandirwa also made it onto the list.

Veteran goalie Ariel Sibanda (Highlanders) and his teammate Andrew Mbeba are also among the finalists, including free-scoring striker Obriel Chirinda of Bulawayo Chiefs and speedy winger Michael Charamba (Chicken Inn).

Notable absentees include Brian Banda of FC Platinum, Emmanuel Jalai (Dynamos), Eric Manokore (CAPS United) and Junior Makunike also of Dynamos.
