THE suburb of Dzivarasekwa will on Saturday reverberate in song and dance, as various Zimdancehall artistes commemorate the late Soul Jah Love.

Born Soul Musaka, Soul Jah Love, who was declared a liberation hero, passed away in 2021 after a short illness.

Event coordinator Benjamin “Benjy” Nyandoro said part of the proceeds from the show will go towards the acquisition of a tombstone that will be placed on Soul Jah Love’s grave.

Nyandoro — who at one point was Soul Jah Love’s manager — said everything is in place for the smooth running of the show.

“We did our homework, and we are now ready for the show.

“This gig is without doubt going to be a big event,” he said.

An impressive line-up, which includes the likes of Chipoko ChaSauro, Silent Killer, Conquering Family, Dadza D, Ricky Fire, Jah Child, Supa Yut, Boss Pumacol, among others, is set to entertain the anticipated huge crowd.

The artistes are going to perform for free.

Silent Killer encouraged Zimdancehall fans to come and support the show.

“I am going to perform for free. This is the only way that I can show my appreciation for what Soul Jah Love did to me and other artistes.

“Those fans that truly love Soul Jah Love will show their love by attending this show,” he said.

Chipoko ChaSauro, who imitates the late Soul Jah Love, is ready for the show.

“I am obviously going to attend. Soul Jah Love was my brother and he still is.

“To me, this is an important event that I will never miss,” he said.

Fredrick Manyangarirwa, a legal practitioner who is managing the estate of the late Soul Jah Love, is hopeful that the money that is going to be raised will be enough to buy a decent tombstone.

“The primary purpose of the show is to raise money to buy a tombstone.

“It is my sincere hope that we are going to raise surplus funds, which will be handed over to the late musician’s family,” Manyangarirwa said.
