NEW: Traffic accidents claim 604 lives in three months

IN just three months, 604 people lost their lives, while 2 624 were injured in 12 564 traffic accidents, latest Zimbabwe National Statistics Agency (ZimStat) data shows.

According to ZimStat’s Third Quarter Transport Statistics Report, 460 of the accidents were fatal and life-threatening.

“A total of 12 564 road traffic accidents were reported during the third quarter of 2023, reflecting a 3,2 percent decrease from 12 981 reported in the second quarter of 2023.

“Of the 12 564 road traffic accidents that occurred in the third quarter of 2023, 460 were fatal,” reads part of the report.

“604 deaths and 2 624 injuries were recorded.”
