NEW: Two children die in Chimanimani fire

TWO children died while another sustained serious burns after one of the victims lit a fire that razed a grass-thatched bathroom to ashes at Chikona village in Chimanimani, Manicaland province, on Monday.

The three girls had been left alone by their grandmother.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirmed the incident in a statement.

“The victims had been left playing by their grandmother, who had gone to the garden.

“The bodies of the victims were taken to Mutambara Mission Hospital for post-mortem whilst the injured victim is admitted at Victoria Chitepo Provincial Hospital,” said police.
