Two minors – both aged seven (7) – were gruesomely murdered at Sambaza Village under Chief Mutasa in Nyanga this week.

Their bodies were found dumped in a disused toilet pit after a desperate search by the community.

Police said they have since instituted investigations.

In a communique, the Zimbabwe Republic Police said on April 13, 2021, the minors left home for school at Mbaza Primary in Nyanga at around 5.30am and never returned home, prompting a search in surrounding areas.

“Their bodies were found in a toilet pit at a deserted homestead with tall grass on April 14, 2021 after frantic search by the whole community.  The community discovered uprooted grass and a trail of blood stains which led to the toilet.

“Police retrieved the bodies from the pit and observed deep cuts on the necks. All the both parts were intact but with blood stained uniforms,” read part of the statement.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated case, police have arrested Dovan Tshikubadzo Ncube (60) for fraud and impersonating some high-ranking Government officials.

On Wednesday, Ncube was arrested in connection with several cases where he reportedly duped victims after alleged he was able to facilitate issuance of travelling documents and national identity documents.

He demanded to be paid in hard currency.

He also used his Whatsapp number (provided) to contact unsuspecting victims, promising them employment in the Zimbabwe Republic Police, Zimbabwe National Army and other Government departments.
