DEFENDING basketball champions, Vixens, appear to have found their mojo again.
Last weekend, the reigning national and Harare women champions secured their third straight win of the newly formatted Harare Basketball Association (HBA) Super 6 league, when they beat JBC 49-46 in a round six fixture.
The game was played at the City Sports Centre.
The win means Vixens jumped to third spot, leapfrogging Bunnies.
Vixens now have nine points from six games.
However, UZ Sparks maintained their perfect start to the 2022/2023 HBA Super 6 season, displaying another dominating performance in their 38-25 win over Greenstars.
Sparks top the women’s log standing with 12 points from six matches, with JBC remaining second, despite the loss to Vixens.
Sparks currently have 10 points from six matches, while Vixens, Bunnies (9 points), Harare City Hornets (8) and Greenstars (6), round up the women’s standings.
In the men’s category, JBC are still unbeaten and currently top the standings with 12 points from six matches.
Their latest conquest came courtesy of an 89-74 win over Leopards Academy, while Bucs jumped into second spot, courtesy of a 77-61 win over UZ Stars.
Men’s defending champions, Foxes outlasted Harare City Hornets 81-58.
The trio of second-placed Bucs, Leopards Academy and UZ Stars are tied on nine points respectively, while Foxes (8) and Harare City Hornets round up the men’s long standings.
