New wave of kidnappings, a poorly organised opposition propaganda

Dr Masimba Mavaza

CCC has embarked on numerous fake kidnappings in an effort to have a “direct impact” on the August 2023 election results.

The fake kidnappings are done in order to vilify Zimbabwe and cast negative aspersions on Zimbabwean peaceful elections of 2023.
Zimbabweans deserve an answer.

As we all can see, the CCC has conceived a plot to kidnap its own members and preyed on social media to push it along. Many top CCC officials play a role in these targeted efforts to influence the demonising of Zimbabwe and push the illicit image agenda.

A political party must not dare stoop so low in order to maintain a grip on the ever elusive power.

Nor call too loud on freedom or lack of it, only to give the world a wrong picture of Zimbabwe.

The opposition uses the common, and arbitrary sense, meaning that they have discovered a way to blackmail Zimbabwe by faking kidnappings.

The fake kidnappings and fake tortures are meant to portray Zimbabwe as a country bankrupt of safety. The word “safety” brings us to the real meaning of the word peace as we use it.

Therefore, to state it in another more accurate way, we became, for the first time in the second dispensation life, afraid – afraid of the evil within the opposition and afraid of the evil which is being traded as reality by the opposition.

It is more evil to try and portray your own country as a seat of confusion. But now, without any warning, the CCC has become a menace, and their way of life is now impacting on our peace in Zimbabwe.

Owing to the way we have been raised as Zimbabweans, we have no idea what has possessed the CCC to lie so openly and present their fallacies as the truth. Those who fake kidnappings have become one of the most depraved people on earth.

Matters are not helped by the fact that these perverted people seem rather to enjoy these terrified lapses, their grim, guilty, tormented experiments, which were at once as chill and joyless as the extract from devil’s diary.

The effects of embellishing these stories are often felt by the innocent Zimbabweans who are groaning under systematic sanctions imposed by the West at the instigation of MDC, from which the CCC faction emerged.

Chamisa, having grabbed power from the trembling hands of the dying Morgan Tsvangirai, sought to consolidate his power by side lining and firing those he perceived as his enemies.

Chamisa’s unashamed power-grab was both unconstitutional and damaging to democracy.

MDC was formed on the supposed foundation of democracy and the death of Tsvangirai wiped out the resemblance of any democracy in the MDC.

Chamisa, much to the chagrin of the founders of the MDC, aligned himself with the sworn enemies of Tsvangirai. If Tsvangirai is to wake up today, he will collapse back into his grave with shame written all over his face.

With no proper advice Chamisa has stumbled from one mistake to another. His school boy mistakes are well calculated in order to discredit him.

The reality is that the founders of MDC who have been elbowed from the CCC and replaced by students activists are planning a come-back in CCC and this time they are thinking big.

They are simply waiting for a time when Chamisa embarrasses himself out of power from the CCC.

Like a vulture, they are waiting for a chance to deliver a final blow on Chamisa and take over the party.

So Chamisa has decided to give the world a shadow of the reality by presenting faked kidnappings.

It is correct to argue that the fake kidnappings are “politicized” or are set to share conspiracy theories about these kidnappings.

It is clear that everyone who has followed these stories of kidnappings from the start knows very well that these are fabricated by the tyrant in the CCC seeking relevance.

CCC will face ZANU PF in the bye elections in December 2023. To pre-empt their loss they are now making a case for electoral violence by faking kidnappings and violence.

Seeing that they will lose, they are creating a mirage in the dark.

The kidnapping sham is entrapping the CCC in their own evil plans.

They are creating these violence lies which are designed to create a false narrative before the by-elections. This is a clear signature of the devil surrounded by a fake fire.

As Zimbabwe, we must heed a warning about the precedent it is setting.

Today, Zimbabweans especially our children — are living through the normalization of political violence by the CCC.

The plot to kidnap and kill a sitting MP may seem like an anomaly, but we must be honest about what it really is: the result of violent, divisive rhetoric that is all too common across our country.

There must be accountability and consequences for those who commit heinous crimes. Without accountability, extremists will be emboldened.

The opposition has already done its homework well. They have their handlers to publish their lies. Their public relations machine is in full swing.

The West already has a soft heart for the opposition, hence issuing threats to Zimbabwe if they do not stay all the prosecutions of those faking kidnappings.

CCC are citing kidnappings as an argument for declaring Zimbabwean elections not free and fair.

The stories that are unfolding in the social media and opposition press seemed tailor-made to convince the outside world to declare Zimbabwe a pariah state.

Chamisa has caused untold sufferings of many Zimbabweans due to his failure to exercise maturity in his political career since he elbowed seasonal opposition leaders out of CCC.

Chamisa is taking advantage of the SADC report and he is taping on to stir a rebellious atmosphere in the country.

The opposition is infested with agitators and violent thugs.

Kidnappings are not a reality in our political system, but we have received a lot of bad publicity where people concentrate on the problems and not on the solution.

In the past months, Zimbabwe has witnessed the opposition’s woeful reports on political violence.

Zimbabwe does not need the blame games now, it needs putting our heads together to come up with a solution which will help the nation.

We have shown that rather than consider relevant facts, some people are more interested in gossip, lies and fabrications.

Slowly, Chamisa is being isolated and soon he will be a lone soldier.

Within politics, leaders possess position power granted by their role, rank and title within an organizational structure and personal power that is earned through a demonstration of integrity and the establishment of trust in the leader-member exchange.

In this case, Chamisa did not have the people enough to win him elections, but he now wants to get his handlers believe that he is being persecuted.

This behaviour created a division in his party. Under Chamisa, CCC has become the most divided party which will split again.

Chamisa has become a drama king and his political life is hanging with the thread.

The over confidence of Chamisa also invites some extraordinary behaviours for those in high powered positions within CCC.

This has rendered the leadership at CCC dysfunctional. In the situation created by Chamisa, informal alliances were formed to counter-balance the individual aggressor.

Other power exchanges occurred within subsets of the leadership team which exacerbated the conflict behaviour.

Chamisa lacks the emotional intelligence and maturity to know that maintaining the balance of the power is the most efficient way to effectively manage a political party.

It is incumbent upon the CCC members that they call upon their leaders to exercise the use of power responsibly.

Chamisa has been irresponsible. Leaders are granted power in service to those they lead. But Chamisa has been abusing his powers. When power is mishandled, such privilege must be revoked.

If CCC is still committed to democracy, Chamisa must be reined in and the fake kidnappings should be exposed.
