A 26-year-old woman was arrested on Sunday for fatally stabbing her husband with a kitchen knife over alleged infidelity.
The suspect reportedly hit the victim with a brick on the back and stabbed him once on the chest with a kitchen knife.
In a statement on Monday, police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest.
“The ZRP confirms the arrest of Fadzai Beatrice Chisanzu (26) for the murder of her husband, Innocent Antonyo (34), on April 10, 2022,” he said.
“The victim was hit with a brick on the back and stabbed once on the chest with a kitchen knife after a misunderstanding over infidelity.”
In a related case, also on April 10, 2022, ZRP Plumtree recorded a case of murder where the body of a male adult (23) was found at Dingumuzi Shopping Centre along the Plumtree-Empandeni Road.
According to police, the body was facing upwards with an incised wound on the left side of the chest.
