NEW: Woman’s leg fractured in hit-and-run accident

A 29-year-old woman sustained a fractured leg when a Changu bus ran over her while she was sleeping on the pavement at Mbare Musika.

The driver, however, drove away from the scene.

Police are now actively looking for him.

“ZRP is investigating a hit-and-run road traffic accident which occurred on January 7, 2024, at Mbare Musika, Buhera Rank pavement, where a Changu bus, which was reversing, ran over a woman (29) who was sleeping on the pavement,” said police in a statement on Thursday.

“The victim sustained a fractured leg.

“The bus driver drove away from the scene.”

Authorities are urging anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts, or any details that could aid in the investigation, to come forward.
