NEW: Yadah FC official Spencer Muvadi banned for one year following assault on goalkeeper Godknows Gurure

THE Premier Soccer League has banned Yadah FC official Spencer Muvadi for a year after he was found guilty of assaulting goalkeeper Godknows Gurure.

Muvadi turned on the helpless keeper at the Heart Stadium’s home dressing room following Yadah’s 2-3 loss to Ngezi Platinum Stars on August 22.

Muvadi accused Gurure of being responsible for the loss.

The assault was widely condemned.

The PSL has now banned him from conducting any official football duties for 12 months and also ordered him to pay a US$4 000 fine, in addition to footing the costs of the hearing.

Yadah FC have also been slapped with a US$5 000 fine.

In a statement, the PSL said: “The Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee has issued its judgment in the matter involving Yadah FC, its representatives and the club’s executive member Spencer Muvadi following the assault on Yadah FC goalkeeper Godknows Gurure after their match against Ngezi Platinum Stars FC played on 22 August 2025 at the Heart Stadium.

“Mr Muvadi was found guilty of breaching the PSL rules and regulations and the committee has imposed a fine of US$4 000, together with the costs of the hearing. In addition, Muvadi has been banned for a period of one year from conducting football business for Yadah FC or any other club participating in the Premier Soccer League, including holding any official position. He was further barred from attending any matches under the jurisdiction of the Premier Soccer League for the same period. These sanctions are effective immediately.”
Yadah FC’s US$5 000 fine must be paid within 15 days from the date of the judgment.
