Vice President Kembo Mohadi has arrived here for the final leg of the Osaka Expo 2025.
He landed on Tuesday evening (local time) and was met by Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Japan Stewart Nyakotyo, Permanent Secretary in the VPs office Dr Benson Dube, the Deputy Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Mercy Dinha, Deputy Minister National Housing and Social Amenities Musa Ncube and other Government officials.
VP Mohadi is set to tour the Zimbabwe Pavilion at the Expo to have an appreciation of the work that has been done since it started in April.
He is also expected to visit various other Pavilions.
During his stay, VP Mohadi will also visit some tourist sites in Osaka, a medical facility where regenerative medicine is being showcased and will also have an experience at the largest public university.
Furthermore, a private sector engagement has been slated as part of VP Mohadi’s visit where he will visit a rail components manufacturing firm.
VP Mohadi’s visit follows a series of high-level engagements between Zimbabwe and Japan, including President Mnangagwa’s visit in July this year.
The Osaka Expo 2025 is running under the theme “Designing future society for our lives” and has brought together over 8 billion people together from around the world to not only view exhibits but co-create a future society.
It ends on 13 October 2025.
The Osaka Expo 2025 has been showcasing cutting edge technologies, sustainable design and global culture through various inspiring Pavillions and interactive experiences.
The Expo has returned to its traditional five year scheduling cycle following disturbances by Covid-19 and Osaka is hosting for the second time after its debut hosting in 1970.
